‘Using NLP to have more fun’ with Gavin Meikle of Inter-Activ

Stepping in at short notice, Gavin decided on a flexible - and mischievous - approach to having more fun. His first intention was to get us operating ‘in the moment’ - leaving behind any baggage or distractions we brought to the meeting. He achieved this through a Polynesian greeting that Robert Dilts had introduced him to during his master practitioner training.

Once in a good state for learning and fun, we then explored whether the NLP-South theme for 2008 (How to have even more FUN!  Now Let’s Play) is a ‘well-formed outcome’.

Finally, using an exercise to develop the fundamental NLP skill of modelling, we ‘taught’ each other about having fun - whether from our own experience, or borrowing someone else’s resources and skills.

This evening was a lesson in the importance and value of the basics of NLP, with plenty of opportunity to practice. And of course it lived up to great expectations of having fun!

Buddhist Monk: Thich Nhat Hanh

Thich Nhat Hanh's key teaching is that, through mindfulness, we can learn to live in the present moment instead of in the past and in the future. Dwelling in the present moment is, according to Nhat Hanh, the only way to truly develop peace, both in one's self and in the world.

The fundamental presupposition of Modeling is: Experience has structure

David Gordon and Graham Dawes have developed their Experiential Dynamics Framework incorporating both "classic" NLP processes and some revealing and useful new ones.
